Jake Newbold joined the U.S. Navy at the age of 18 in June of 1997, one month after graduating high school in rural eastern Ohio. After completion of Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL Training (BUD/S) class 219 in 1998, he embarked on a twenty-year career serving at SEAL Teams FOUR, EIGHT, Naval Special Warfare Unit FOUR, Naval Special Warfare Basic Training Command, and the Naval Special Warfare Center. Throughout his Naval career, as a SEAL Sniper and Senior Enlisted leader, Newbold led over 150 combat operations throughout eight deployments in Afghanistan, Iraq, Central, South America, and the Caribbean, and trained over 1200 active-duty SEAL candidates as a SEAL Instructor.
Upon retiring from the Navy in 2017, he began his civilian career working as an Associate Banker on JPMorgan’s Corporate Client and Specialized Industries team in Dallas, TX. As a licensed Series 79 Investment Banker, he assisted the bank’s Energy Finance team with providing commercial and investment banking services to largely high yield, public oil and gas companies with average annual revenues of $500mm to upwards of $3bn.
Newbold has served on the Board of Directors of the SEAL Legacy Foundation (SLF), non-profit organization since 2011. As a primary financial sponsor and supporter of the SLF since its inception, Trident 1’s founders and primary equity sponsor, Park Ten Capital, hand selected Newbold in February of 2020 to develop and lead the Trident 1 team as the President & CEO.

Tommy Joe Martins is an American professional stock car racing driver. He competes part-time in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, driving the No. 44 and 45 Chevrolet Camaros for Alpha Prime Racing. Martins began his racing career at the age of five in karting in his native Mississippi. After financial issues caused him to have to quit racing at 16, he attended the University of Mississippi seeking a degree in journalism. During his sophomore year, he resumed competition, driving in Sports Car Club of America-sanctioned events. On August 30, 2021, Martins confirmed a partnership with Caesar Bacarella to co-own Alpha Prime Racing, with Martins switching to a part-time schedule in 2022 to split the No. 44 with multiple drivers.
Jon ‘DRJ’ Najarian was linebacker for the Chicago Bears before he turned to another kind of contact sport – trading on the Chicago Board Options Exchange. He became a member of the CBOE, NYSE, CME and CBOT and worked as a floor trader for some 25 years. In 1990 he founded Mercury Trading, a market-making firm at the Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE), which he sold in 2004 to Citadel, one of the world’s largest hedge funds. In 2005 Jon co-founded optionMONSTER and tradeMONSTER. He partnered with private equity firm General Atlantic Partners in 2014 and they sold the firm to E*Trade for $750 million in September of 2016. Today, he is a professional investor, money manager and media analyst. Jon has earned a reputation in the industry as an options trading expert and pioneer. He developed and patented trading applications and algorithms used to identify unusual activity in stock, options, and futures markets. optionMONSTER, the options news and education site he co-founded, was described by Securities Industry News as “content king of the options business.” For years, tradeMONSTER was consistently rated “Best for Options Traders” by Barron’s and was the first online broker to deploy streaming, desktop-like trading in a web browser. Following a football career that included several seasons with the NFL’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Minnesota Vikings, Pete took up options trading in 1992 joining his brother Jon at Mercury Trading, a market-making firm at the Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE). Two years later, he assumed responsibility for Mercury’s risk and arbitrage and later led its entry onto the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE). He also led Mercury’s joint venture with M.J. Pete is one of the “Fast Money Five” on CNBC’s “Fast Money” as well as a cast member of CNBC’s “Halftime Report.” He also contributes to CBOE-TV, the exchange’s popular webcast. An executive leader in the fields of Global Banking, Corporate Finance and Technology, Dirk is an active investor and has co-founded and/or served as chief executive and board member of several startup companies across three continents – Europe, Africa and North America. As FOUNDER/Managing Director of consulting firm LTR Ltd., Dirk conducted corporate research and due diligence in Europe, Africa and the US on behalf of corporate clients including well-known British Industrialist “Tiny” Rowland, and served as an advisor on mining issues to several South African governments and was an expert witness in several merger cases before the court of the European Commission. Working on behalf of the Rowland Family Trust and the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, Dirk built one of the largest leadership development programs in the SADC region in cooperation with Standard Bank of South Africa. He then later partnered with Jon and Pete Najarian to co-found their own investor education company optionMONSTER and sister online trading company tradeMONSTER with Dirk serving as co-founder/CEO. Ryan Mastro was born and raised in Southern New Jersey. As a teenager, Ryan spent time as a commercial clammer – a job that made him appreciate hard physical labor. He attended Drexel University on a Swimming and Diving Scholarship, where he received dual majors in Finance and Economics. Through Drexel’s co-op program, Ryan found his career path on the derivatives floor of the Philadelphia Stock Exchange.
After several years as a market maker and specialist, Ryan and Ron Ianieri co-founded a successful off-floor proprietary order flow trading desk. The risk exposure on the desk forced Ryan to create a specialized cross asset and volatility risk management technology to reduce the overall portfolio risk. This technology path led to a partnership with IVolatility to create dozens of powerful cutting-edge scanning and analytical tools to find opportunities and minimize research time.
Ryan and Ron Ianieri joined forces again to build the online option education company Options University, which was recognized as an Inc. 500 fastest growing company for two consecutive years. Bill Johnson has published 10 books on various financial topics including options, single stock futures, hedging, forex, and the Federal Reserve. He was a former adjunct professor teaching futures, options, and swaps at Florida International University in Miami (FIU).
In a previous company, he created two online educational courses on options and single-stock futures with more than 300,000 students enrolling worldwide. Bill was also a regular host for a live financial radio show on WNN 1470AM in Boca Raton, Florida.
From 1995 to 2000, he worked as a subject matter expert on an active trader team at Charles Schwab. He also taught weeklong courses in Option Strategies, Pricing, and Hedging to advanced brokers. Wayne Razzi brings nearly three decades of trading experience as an Options Analyst at Market Rebellion. In this role, he applies his expertise in technical analysis to help identify and report on options trade opportunities. Prior to Market Rebellion, Wayne served as a senior educator/trainer for Jon & Pete Najarian’s Option Monster Education. He has also published hundreds of educational articles, developed course materials and software tools and provided economic and market forecasts as an options theory and technical analysis instructor for leading firms such as IVolatility.com and Options University.
Wayne was also an on-floor market-maker at the PHLX for the better part of 10 years, traded on a trading desk for several years, and helped launch an electronic options trading desk for Crédit Commercial de France (HSBC France) on what is now known as the Eurex. In addition, he has served as a series 7 & 66 licensed professional financial advisor and market commentator and is currently completing the final (Level 3) CMT requirements to become a Chartered Market Technician.
Wayne and his wife currently live in constant motion with their four children in a small town dotted with Palmetto trees and cresting waves in coastal South Carolina’s Lowcountry.
Greg is a veteran trader with three decades of experience as a floor trader himself and managing floor trading operations for market-making firms. In addition, he is an experienced financial educator having taught a graduate-level course in Derivatives and an undergraduate course in Markets and Institutions at Saint Joseph’s University, and a graduate-level course in International Financial Management at Delaware Valley College.

He began his long trading career as a Clerk for Interactive Brokers on the floor of the American Stock Exchange in XMI Index and Equity Options, and Trader at the New York Mercantile Exchange working on Crude Oil Options & Futures.
